We’re The GFB – a quickly growing national snack brand based in Grand Rapids. Just so you know, we’re actually not in the snack business…we’re in the “making people happy” business. Yes, we make fun and flavorful snacks that our customers love, but we also aim to make our team and surrounding community happy. Back to us for a sec. You should know that we do things a little differently around here. For one, we make all of our snacks at our very own facility (for a company in our business, that is as rare as a “good hair day” for Donald Trump). Second, we built this ourselves with no outside funding, so we know first-hand that hard work creates success. Last, we’re a certified B Corp…that means we care about people, planet, profit: in that order. We are not here just to make a buck…we are committed to making this world a little better place than the way we found it.

I guess what we’re trying to say is that this is a different kind of company doing things in a different way.

Can you picture yourself at a company like this?

One of the roles we are hiring for is Sales Manager – Western US Region. Which is another way of saying you’ll be leading our sales efforts with grocery, natural, independent customers, and all of our distributors in the Western half of the US. You’ll work with all types of customers to continue to develop the region while at the same time making sure our customers are happy and we’re doing the right things support our retail partners and grow our joint business.

Here’s a sampling of things you would own:

Achievement of Western US sales goals through collaboration internally at The GFB and externally with broker and customers.
Finalize market presentation, account presentations, promotion and marketing plans
Manage customer growth, product item launches, account specific marketing programs, as well as local and regional marketing programs.
Actively contribute to medium and long term sales & marketing programs through market expertise, sharing of customer and consumer feedback internally.
Ensure full engagement of The GFB in-store marketing programs with customers and consumers in the region.
Develop sales forecasts and report monthly / quarterly on progress, challenges, solutions, etc.
Organize and attend customer & distributor trade shows
Organize and attend consumer trade shows
Organize/participate in demos and other events in the region


Bachelors Degree
2+ years food industry sales experience
True interest in better-for-you products and understanding of nutrition and ingredients
Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
Project management and cross functional project leadership skills
Excellent team and communication skills
Ability to travel frequently; live near a major airport. Ideally, you'll live in the Western US.
*Salary commensurate with experience
